A Day Off in Panamá City: Bikes, the Canal & Korean BBQ

Day 34 Pines 2 Patagonia log

Panamá City (day off)

On Friday the 6th after a very interesting UBER ride from our hotel to the Overland Embassy we met Ian. He is an Irishman residing in Canada for the last 16 years also on a wild motorcycle ride to the end of the earth.

The P2P crew, Robert and Ian all climbed on our bikes and headed to the airport. Our first stop was to get our TIP, temporary import permit. After that we headed to the hangar get get the bikes through customs and ready to ship. It was a simple process other than we had to unload everything for the bikes and run it all through the scanner and then repack them. Once they were done and the shipping paperwork completed we were free to roam around the city again.

Ian caught a flight direct to Colombia. Matt & Robert took a trip to see the Panama Canal and Red & Adam found a great Sushi restaurant and way over ate again.

While Robert & Matt learned about the importance and history of the Canal, Rojo & Keeb toured the city and located a few parts for Reds bike.

Later on in the day we all decided to go back to the same restaurant Rojo and Keeb were at earlier. This time it was for the Korean bbq dinner and some adult beverages. The company, food and experience was a memory none of us will soon forget.

After dinner the P2P crew headed back to our local watering hole. After just a short while we all were tired, so we convinced the bartender Gabby to have a shot of tequila with us and said Adiós.
