One Month In: A Quiet Day on Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast

Day 30 Pines 2 Patagonia log

Hanging in Puntarenas, Costa Rica

We celebrated all of our successful border crossings and being on the road for one month with a day off in Puntarenas. This is a peninsula town that’s primarily use is for docking cruise ships. It didn’t appear that any ships were in port as the town was pretty quiet.

The day off was spent with Matt getting on his bike and exploring some beaches and villages to the South while Keeb & Red did some route planning, exploring and eating. Overall the food in Costa Rica was good, not great. It was very bland. Maybe it was because we had just spent two weeks eating delicious and spicy foods further North but nothing really stood out.

We walked the town and beaches, watched the sunset and then got back in the ocean to watch as the stars multiplied as darkness fell. It was very surreal to be in the ocean off the coast of Costa Rica. Even more surreal knowing we road our motorcycles there from Oregon.
