S-Turns, Tacos, and the Sea of Cortez
Day 8 Pines 2 Patagonia log
After a decent nights rest in Constitution City, we saddled up to do what we do best… ride South.
As we worked our way down the cactus lined highway in and out of the shadows of beautiful rock bluffs, our motorcycles must have sensed the upcoming day of rest as much as the riders did.
We pushed our way up and down some truly stunning mountains. The seemingly endless s-turns continued for miles with more traffic than we had seen thus far.
After a few stops for fuel and more tacos for us, we rounded one last corner and we were blessed with the glittering waters of the Sea of Cortez once again.
Upon arriving Casa Cal, Stu and Jenifer greeted us with smiles and promise of hot showers and a great meal. However, that would have to wait a bit.
Once the bikes were unloaded and we had settled in, we borrowed a Side x Side and toured the beaches and town.
Los Barriles is a remarkable coastal town in Baja Sur that is a sight for sore eyes. The views are spectacular, the people are friendly and Sushi was some of the best any of us had ever tasted.
After a short dip in the Sea and a change of cloths we joined Stu and Jennifer at Beans & Rice for a great dinner and even better stories.
With this being the farthest point South we will travel in Baja, I think we all would agree that Baja has taken great care of us. Although we are all excited to begin Stage 2 in mainland Mexico, we are certainly going to miss the sights, sounds and lifestyle of The Baja.
