A Well-Earned Pause in Paradise
Day 9 Pines 2 Patagonia log
Day 9 was a much needed day of rest, recovery, laundry, maintenance and reorganizing our gear.
We had breakfast at a great little open air Cafe where we made friends with a nice Canadian couple and drank some great coffee for the first time this trip.
After breakfast we headed back to Casa Cal for a swim in the Sea and prepped our bikes to go to Jimmie at CanDoo rentals and ATV repair for service. While we were there, we toured the CanDoo / Industrial Finishes race shop. This is a top notch facility where there are currently prepping the truck for the upcoming Baja Racing season.
Adam and Red did a little shopping at a roadside stand where they each picked up a Los Barriles shirt and sticker. After that we headed into town for… tacos of course. Actually Matt & Red each had Tortas and the Keeb put away a few tacos.
Shortly after our late lunch Jimmy let us know our bikes had been serviced and were ready to be picked up. When we arrived the bikes were out front, fully serviced and looking better than new! Thanks Jimmie 🏍️
A little while later we again joined our hosts Stu and Jennifer for dinner. This time we ate at the La Playa restaurant just down from the house. Not only were we blessed with a great meal by Stu, there was live music and salsa dancing. We also got to see dozens of Rays jumping and playing just off the shore as the sun set and the cool blue waters brightened with a pink hue.
After dinner we went for a stroll along the beach and ran into our friends from breakfast at a nearby cantina. A great time was had discussing past, present and future travel plans, concerts and ailments…we called it a night well after the other guests had departed and hit the rack to get some rest before getting back on the road the next day.
