Goats, Grit & Gorgeous Coastlines

Day 12 Pines 2 Patagonia log

San Blas - Puerto Vallarta - Punta Perula

We departed San Blas and continued South with no set Finish line for the day.

The next stretch of Coastal Hwy is unlike any road we have ever seen and we didn’t know how many miles we could actually complete. The “free” highway (no tolls) is in major disrepair. For several hundred miles, the road did not go straight for more than a thousand feet. The turns were sharp, yet exhilarating to ride.

We reached Puerto Vallarta a little After 1 o’clock and found a place to exchange some US currency for the much needed pesos. Adam and Ray grabbed a sandwich from Subway of all places 😁

After some intense re-hydration, we settled back up, traversed the town, and continued our way along this beautiful yet texting road.

We reached Punta Perula a little after 4:30 and upon arriving at the RV park we intended to stay at, fearing our Tengs may be consumed by the free range goats, we checked in to a beautiful, secure, and goat, free hotel on the other side of the street. Rafael are host, made sure that we had everything we needed, and that our bikes were secure in their enclosed parking area.

After we washed off the road grime in the warm ocean, we got changed and headed to the opposite end of town for a wonderful beachfront seafood dinner.

After dinner, we stopped at the city center to pose our bikes in front of the sign and continued back to our hotel and began planning out our goals for day 13.
